USA Gymnastics Winter Cup is in Louisville this weekend. Everything you need to know

Suni Lee, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics all-around gymnastics gold medalist, will be in Louisville this weekend as the Winter Cup starts Friday at the Kentucky International Convention Center downtown.

The competition made headlines recently as it was going to be the setting for Gabby Douglas' return to gymnastics, but had to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19, the 2012 Olympic all-around champion announced Thursday.

The Winter Cup is a qualifier for the national championships, which begin May 30 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Winter Cup is the event to qualify for the 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Championships.

"The Winter Cup will also culminate in the selection of the Men’s Senior National Team to be named following the competition," according to the event's website.

The USA Gymnastics Winter Cup will be between Feb. 23-25.

Friday:

  • 1:30 p.m. – Winter Cup: Senior Men’s Competition Day 1

  • 7:00 p.m. – Winter Cup: Junior Women’s Competition Day 1

Saturday

  • 1:00 p.m. – Winter Cup: Senior Women’s Competition – All-around & events

  • 6:30 p.m. – Elite Team Cup Team Competition; Junior Men Competition Day 1 – All-around

Sunday

  • 12:00 p.m. – Nastia Liukin Cup

  • 5:30 p.m. – Winter Cup: Senior Men’s Competition Day 2 – All-around & Event Finals & Junior Men’s Event Finals

Where can I stream the Winter Cup?

For those not able to make the competition in person, USA Gymnastics will be streaming the events on its YouTube channel.

The Podium Trainings, which started Wednesday and finalize Saturday, can be streamed through FlipNow.tv, although the prize is $5.99, according to the streaming website.
