Updated list of Oregon players to opt out of Fiesta Bowl vs. Liberty

There has been a great deal of roster movement for the Oregon Ducks during  the past couple of weeks, whether it be players leaving Eugene and entering the transfer portal or the more than two dozen players who signed with the Ducks as the 2024 recruiting class.

We’ve also seen a handful of players announce transfers to the Ducks, while a few have opted out of the bowl game to pursue NFL dreams.

With so much roster turnover, it can get confusing who is playing and who isn’t. To help, we put together an updated list of the players who have entered the portal or opted out of the bowl game.

WR Troy Franklin

Career Stats at Oregon: 40 games | 160 catches, 2,483 yards, 25 TDs

Notes: Troy Franklin has not publicly opted out of the bowl game. He has stated he will head to the NFL after this season, and there is an expectation he will not play in the Fiesta Bowl.

C Jackson Powers-Johnson

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Notes: After becoming the first Oregon Duck to win the Rimington Trophy, given to the best center in the nation, it’s not a shock that Powers-Johnson is heading to the NFL and capitalizing on his high draft stock. He will opt out of the Fiesta Bowl, and true freshman Iapani Laloulu will take over as the starting center.

DL Popo Aumavae

Career Stats at Oregon41 games | 86 tackles, 12 TFL, 6.5 sacks

Notes: Popo Aumavae announced this week he would opt out of the game. That doesn’t come as a major surprise considering he is graduating this offseason and preparing for the NFL draft.
