Unified track: Bloomington North, BNL make top 10 at IHSAA state meet
Bloomington North was sixth, Bedford North Lawrence ninth and Bloomington South took 11th at the IHSAA Unified Track Meet on Saturday at Indiana University.
Noblesville won its first title with 112 points, while Valparaiso and Fort Wayne Carroll were next at 109. North had 85, BNL 75 and South, making its first trip to the finals, had 64.

Section winners in the mixed 400 included BNL's Brax Huber and South's Cameron Southern and Peyton Shute. North's Gavin Reed won the first flight of the mixed long jump while Lexi Sutherlin was second in Flight 5.
BNL's Trace Walters won the second flight of the shot put over North's Andrew Cockerham and South's Jacob Dixon, while North's Gavin Clinger was third in Flight 3, BNL's Alex Nubbie was second in the Flight 4 and BNL's Gracelyn Arthur was third in Flight 5.
BNL was second in the boys 400 relay Section 1.
North duo wins Bobby Cox Award
At the conclusion of the Unified State Finals, the IHSAA Executive Committee presented Justin Lovell and Andrew Cockerham of Bloomington North the Bobby Cox Spirit of Unified Mental Attitude Award.
An athlete, nominated by their principal and coach, must excel in mental attitude, joy, courage, self-advocacy, and commitment during their time in high school. A partner athlete, also nominated by their principal and coach, must excel in mental attitude, inclusive behavior, courage, advocacy, and commitment during their time in high school.
