UND's Kacie Borowicz named preseason Summit League Player of the Year
Oct. 10—GRAND FORKS — Kacie Borowicz, who is returning for her fifth year at UND, was named the preseason Summit League Player of the Year Tuesday.
The guard was chosen after putting together the second-best scoring season in UND history, averaging 21.1 points per game. She led the Summit League in scoring with 674 points.
Borowicz has earned back-to-back All-Summit League first team honors. The preseason Player of the Year nod gave her an automatic spot on the preseason All-Summit League first team.
The preseason coaches' poll was also released Tuesday. The Hawks were ranked No. 4 in the league for the second straight season. Ahead of UND is No. 1 South Dakota State, No. 2 North Dakota State and No. 3 South Dakota.
UND women's basketball finished last season with a 19-13 overall record, going 11-7 in conference play. The Hawks were 13-1 at home.
The Hawks open the season on the road against Wyoming Nov. 6.
