UNCW baseball live updates, schedule and scores from CAA Tournament

The 2023 Colonial Athletic Association baseball championship has brought plenty of drama this weekend as weather delays and jaw-dropping plays have riddled the ball fields in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

The six team, double-elimination tournament started with a bang for the Seahawks as they cruised past No. 5 Delaware 3-0 Wednesday. After falling into a three-run hole in Friday's matchup with Northeastern, play was suspended due to inclement weather.

As play resumed Saturday, UNCW rallied back, scoring five runs in the sixth inning before junior Jac Croom scored the game-winning run from second on a dropped pop-up in extra innings for a 6-5 final. The top-seeded Seahawks will play the winner of Game 9 (Elon vs. Northeastern) for a CAA tournament title Sunday at 5 p.m.

The Seahawks (33-21, 20-8 CAA) claimed their first CAA regular season title since 2019 as they closed out the regular season with three straight wins over William and Mary.
