UNC baseball score vs. Iowa: Live updates from NCAA regionals
UNC baseball, coming off last season's super regional run, has landed in the Terre Haute Regional with host and top-seeded Indiana State, No. 2-seeded Iowa and No. 4 Wright State.
The third-seeded Tar Heels (35-22) swept NC State before tanking against Clemson to end the regular season 0-4 and then make a run to the ACC semifinals. They'll be playing without star centerfielder Vance Honeycutt, who is sitting out with a lower-back injury.
North Carolina will face Iowa (42-14) on Friday (7 p.m., ACC Network) after Indiana State (42-15) takes on Wright State (39-21) at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Hawkeyes return to the NCAA Tournament after a six-year absence, largely due to their pitching staff, which will have to square up with a power-hitting Heels squad.
The Terre Haute Regional is paired with the Fayetteville (Arkansas) Regional, which includes Arkansas, Santa Clara, TCU and Arizona. The winners of the two regionals will matchup in the super regional round.
