UIL State Golf Recap: Kingsville's Noah Resendez fires 74 to tie for third place

Kingsville senior Noah Resendez had the top finish in the Coastal Bend after firing a 74 on Tuesday at the UIL Class 4A state golf tournament at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland.

Resendez also shot a 71 on Monday to turn in a two-day score of 145 to finish in a tie for third place in the individual standings.

Wimberley's Jaxon Donaldson shot a 136 to win the Class 4A tournament and the Bridgeport boys won the team title with a 589.

In Class 5A, Gregory-Portland's Broc Talamantez tied for 42nd after shooting a two-day score of 156, which included a 76 on Tuesday. Comal Smithson Valley won the team title with a 572 and Luke Colton from Frisco Wakeland won the individual title with a 136.

In Class 3A, the London boys (Noah Gonzalez, Trace Renteria, Jacob Barrera, Ty Wiseman, Jacob Uballe) placed 12th as a team with a two-day score of 730. Renteria shot a two-day score of 176 to lead the Pirates.

Also in Class 3A, George West's Vince Partidge carded a 180 after shooting a 86 in the first round.

Woodsboro's Tagg Silvas shot a two-day score of 185 in the Class 2A tournament.
