UCLA's Ryan Garcia strikes out 13 to earn Pac-12 Baseball Pitcher of the Week

UCLA's Ryan Garcia tossed seven scoreless innings as No. 1 UCLA shut out No. 8 East Carolina 3-0 in the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader, earning him Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week. Garcia set a new career-high in the sweep-clinching win over the Pirates, sitting down 13 batters. He is the first Bruin with 13 Ks since Cody Poteet in 2014, and now owns the best WHIP (0.82) and the second-best ERA (1.32) in the Conference this year. Only one ECU batter got into scoring position on three hits with Garcia on the mound on Saturday.
