Twopeopleshot outside Bridgeport sports bar, one seriously injured, official says

Jul. 30—Gilleran said police received reports of gunshots in the area around midnight but, on arrival, officers found no victims.

According to Gilleran, the two who were shot went to the train station to call 911. He said while officers were on the way to the station, the victims brought themselves to Bridgeport Hospital.

The victims are a 29-year-old Bridgeport man and a 31-year-old Ansonia man, Gilleran said. He said that the 29-year-old was shot in the chest and is in critical condition. The 31-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound through his leg, which is "non-life-threatening," Gilleran said.

Gilleran said that officers saw two other suspects fled the area on foot via surveillance cameras and are still at-large.

The Bridgeport Police Department's Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the investigation, Gilleran said.

Duncan is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at the state Superior Court in Bridgeport on Monday, Gilleran said.
