Two injured in three-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Walton

Aug. 10—A collision in Walton on Tuesday night injured two people and damaged three vehicles.

According to Cass County Sheriff Deputy Michael Thomison, the crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. near the construction stoplight north of Walton on U.S. Route 35 when a 2016 Hyundai failed to stop at the red light.

Thomison said the Hyundai's driver had set the vehicle's speed control to about 55 miles per hour and failed to notice the upcoming stopped traffic. The Hyundai collided with a Honda stopped at the light. The Honda then collided with a 2021 Dodge Durango that had also been stopped at the light.

An adult and a juvenile were trapped inside the Honda and received injuries from the crash. Thomison said the sheriff's office does not know the condition of the two injured people, but he believes the juvenile suffered minor injuries while the adult's injuries were more severe. Both individuals were transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital.
