Kingsville Brahmas

District: 16-4A Division I

2022 Record: 1-9, 0-6

Head coach: Ruben Garcia

Top returners

WR Terrell Jackson, sr.; QB Dylon Everett, jr.; DB Jasiah Rivera, jr.; DL Kenneth Reeder, jr.

What to know for 2023

Garcia takes over at Kingsville looking to bring the Brahmas back from a tough season in 2022 and will have to do some rebuilding on offense. Kingsville returns two starters, but on defense returns seven and that side of the ball could carry the team through the early portion of the schedule. The Brahmas will have to find some depth to help them compete for a playoff spot on 16-4A Division I, but Garcia said numbers during summer strength and conditioning have been strong.

Coach Ruben Garcia on the 2023 season

“We are going to have a chance to shock a lot of people, getting in there in January … we had a really great offseason and have had a great summer. The kids have been consistent in showing up and doing what we ask them to do. We have some talent in all positions, and we are going to do what we do, coach them hard and hold them accountable. We believe and expect to be in the playoffs and I think we are a playoff team if we really put it together.”
