Twitter reacts to UNC missing NCAA tournament
Sunday was a tough day for the UNC basketball program. The selection committee did not include the Tar Heels in the field of 68 — as many expected entering the day.
On Sunday night, the committee revealed the Tar Heels were the third team out of the field.
The loss on Thursday to Virginia all but ended UNC’s chances as it really needed another quad 1 win on the resume. Now, they are on the wrong side of history: Becoming the first team to go from preseason No. 1 to missing the NCAA Tournament since the tournament expanded to 64 teams.
UNC’s season of promise devolved into disappointment after numerous chances at a turnaround. After it was confirmed that UNC would not be a part of March Madness, fans took to Twitter to express their feelings.

I don’t like to throw around the “We’re UNC” card. But we are THE NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS. A polarizing pillar of college basketball. Does the NCAA not like ratings?
