Twitter reacts to Bucs re-signing WR Mike Evans to new 2-year deal
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are keeping the best offensive player in franchise history, agreeing to a new two-year contract extension with wide receiver Mike Evans.
Evans was expected to hit free agency next week without a new deal, but this move likely means that the future Hall of Famer will get to finish his legendary NFL career where it all started in Tampa Bay.
Coming off one of the best seasons of his career at 30 years old, Evans was expected to command rare money on the open market for an older receiver, but the Bucs ensured that won’t happen by paying him themselves.
After the news broke, reactions from fans came flying in fast and furious:

Evans gets the big money he wants. Bucs get it on a shorter term in case age decline happens. Can't be more of a win-win!

Insanely excited. No doubt a Hall of Famer.

Pure relief. I knew he wasn’t leaving but I was getting sick of all these yo-yo articles going out. Such a nice surprise to hammer this out before FA
