Twitter reaction: Power outage strikes Leafs-Capitals outdoor game
On a typical Saturday night in the entertainment districts of Toronto and D.C., there’s bound to be blackouts aplenty.
Though lots of booze-induced memory loss was surely prevalent during the Stadium Series game between the Maple Leafs and Capitals at the US Naval Academy, a different kind of power outage – a literal one – forced a delay in the middle of the third period with the Caps holding comfortably to a 5-2 lead.

As usual, when things of this nature go down, Twitter had jokes:
I was kinda hoping when the lights went out at the @NHL #StadiumSeries @MapleLeafs @Capitals game that The Undertaker would have been at centre ice when the lights came back up. pic.twitter.com/KCoHA8pEF5

Should have done the rest of the game with black lights. At least the Maple Leafs' all-white jerseys would be quite visible. #StadiumSeries

you can't expect the Naval Academy, as part of the world's largest military (larger than the next 27 combined, 25 of whom are allies), to have a football stadium with backup generators. #StadiumSeries #Leafs

Ray Lewis killed the lights again #stadiumseries

Clearly Roger Goodell made the lights go out of the #CapsLeafs #StadiumSeries game so the Ravens…er…Capitals could win the big game.

If Crosby's better than Ovechkin, then how come Ovi is the all time leader in causing blackouts? #StadiumSeries #WSHvsTOR #NavalAcademy

Are the Baltimore Ravens calling this power outage a conspiracy yet?#StadiumSeries

The power came back on after a 15-minute delay, and the Capitals neatly finished off their 5-2 victory over the Leafs.
