Tuesday's Seacoast Roundup: Simas, Page, Forman all score for STA boys in win

DOVER - Owen Simas, Aaron Page and Angus Forman all had a goal and the St. Thomas Aquinas boys soccer team beat Raymond, 3-1 in a Division III contest on Tuesday afternoon.

The Saints are now 2-0 on the season, while Raymond is 0-1.

Jacob Murphy and Ryan Resch both had an assist in the win.

BOYS SOCCER

Winnacunnet 4 

Merrimack 2 

HAMPTON – Bryce Molnar, Tim Kollmorgen, Ryan Zumbach and Nate Kelley all had a goal for Winnacunnet in its Division I season-opening win.

Hale Dodier had two assists in the win, while Kelley had one. Winnacunnet goalie Tyler Blank had six saves, earning the win.

Goffstown 2 

Spaulding 1 

ROCHESTER – Spaulding’s lone goal came on a penalty kick off the foot of Noah Crosby in this Division I season opener.

Defensively, Eli Benjamin and Mason Bolorin had “great performances,” according to Spaulding head coach Stephen Lynch.

Windham 3

Exeter 2

EXETER - Dylan Drunsic scored both goals for Exeter (0-2) in a Division I match. Exeter goalie Brady Rogers had five saves.

Portsmouth 4

Timberlane 1

PORTSMOUTH - Henry Purcell, James Dedeus, Zac Amend and Aidan Chin all scored a goal for Portsmouth in this Division I win.

Oyster River 6

Plymouth 0

DURHAM - Tobin Saunders scored two goals, and Casey Pirtle, Camden Tucker and Dylan Brunner all had one for Oyster River (2-0) in this Division II win.

GIRLS SOCCER

Winnacunnet 2 

Merrimack 1

MERRIMACK – Stella Sebeny scored the game-winning goal in overtime in this Division I match. Winnacunnet improved to 1-0-1, while Merrimack is 0-2.

Mia Lantaigne scored the first Winnacunnet goal with an assist from Moxie Clifford. Liana Pacheco and Julia Merrick both played well for Winnacunnet.

Salem 4

Dover 1

SALEM - Payton Danning, on an assist from Sarah Bastille, scored the lone goal for Dover (0-1-1) midway through the first half of this Division I match.

Dover sophomore goalie Danika Virgin had a strong game despite the loss.

St. Thomas Aquinas 1

Gilford 0

DOVER - Kate Burrus' goal proved to be the difference for the Saints to pick up their second win of the season in this Division III win.

Maddie Karsonovich had the assist, and goalie Genna Bolduc had 13 saves in the win.

Portsmouth 3

Timberlane 1

PLAISTOW - Annie Parker scored two goals and Mallory Baker added another for the Clippers who improved to 2-0 with this Division I win.

Additionally, Delaney Cook and Grace Ward had assists for the Clippers, and goalie Haley Coombs had 11 saves. Defensively, Sylvia Guarracino and Abby Nersesian starred in the win.

FIELD HOCKEY

Oyster River 3

Souhegan 2

AMHERST- Rowynn Pickering's breakaway goal, assisted by Olivia Andersen, with 1:19 left in overtime pushed the Bobcats to this Division II win, and reach 1-1 on the season.

Oyster River's Nora Rogers scored the opening goal of the game, and Eliza Farwell added another in the fourth quarter.

GOLF

WHS second, PHS third in four-team match 

HAMPTON – Winnacunnet’s June Doerr and Jimmy Schouller both carded medalist rounds of 1-under par 35 in a four-team match at Sagamore Hampton Country Club.

Windham won with a team score of 178, while Winnacunnet (181), Portsmouth (193) and Trinity (218) placed second through fourth, respectively.

“We played well, but two teams beat us soundly,” Portsmouth head coach Kyle Harrison said. “Positive thoughts moving forward as 193 is a solid start.”

Briggs Williams led Portsmouth with a 37, while Turner Leduc (38), Grey Gagnon (39), Eli Poteet (39) and Cal Rothstein (40) rounded out Portsmouth's top five.

For Winnacunnet, Chris Berry shot a 37, while teammates Elliot Brinser and Josh Mezey both had a 38.

Dover places second in four-team match 

AMHERST – Dover’s Carys Fennessy shot a medalist round of 1-under par 35, but the Green Wave fell to Hanover in a four-team match at Souhegan Woods.

Hanover won with a team score of 207, while Dover (210), Merrimack (233) and Nashua South (234) placed second through fourth, respectively.

Jon Dumais shot a 42 for Dover, while Gavin Bernard and Michael Gorman both had a 44, and Ben Zbikowski had a 45.

Saints place second in four-team match

SOMERSWORTH - Cam Cunio and Carlos Guenard both shot a 42, leading St. Thomas Aquinas in a four-team match at The Oaks Golf Club.

Oyster River won with a team score of 202, and St. Thomas Aquinas was second with a 215. Goffstown (225) and Kingswood (245) placed third and fourth, respectively.

Will Mollica shot a 43 for the Saints, while Ryan Allard and Tom Edgerly both had a 44.
