Marshfield outdistanced Stevens Point by 33 points to win the girls conference meet.

Marshfield took first place in the pole vault where Casey Dasler won, the high jump where Danielle Minsaas took first, the discus and shot put where Aubri Brown won, and the 400-meter dash where Michaela Dick took first. Marshfield’s 800-meter relay team also took first.

Wausau West got a first-place finish from Abby Berens in the long jump.

D.C. Everest’s Megan Zemke took first in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles. Ellia Roble took first in the 100-meter dash, Sara Mlodik took first in the 1,600- and the 3,200-meter runs. Everest also got a first in the 400-meter relay.

Stevens Point’s first-place finishers were Kannitha Xiong in the triple jump, Lilly Higgins in the 800-meter run, and the 1,600- and 3,200-meter relays.

Merrill’s Madison Crossman won the 200-meter dash.

Stevens Point dominated the boys meet with 12 first-place finishes.

The Panthers’ first-place finishes came in the pole vault (Evan Koeleman), the high jump (Amon Konopacki), the long jump (Nick Tuchscherer), the triple jump (Nick Tuchscherer), the shot put (Cole Sallet), the 3,200-meter relay, the 1,600-meter run (Bode Erickson), the 400-meter dash (Matthew Eiden), the 800-meter run (Bode Erickson), the 200-meter dash (Matthew Eiden), the 3,200-meter run (Cooper Erickson) and the 1,600-meter relay.

Wisconsin Rapids’ Connor Akey won the discus. The Red Raiders also won the 800-meter relay.

D.C. Everest’s Blake Postler won the 110-and 300-meter hurdles. The Evergreens also picked up a first in the 400-meter relay.

Mosinee won the conference title and had two first-place finishes.

Mosinee got its first-place finishes from Malina Carattini in the 100-meter hurdles and from Bekah Bouton in the discus (112-11).

Medford, with its second-place team finish, had a first place from Jaylin Machon in the pole vault.

Tomahawk took first in the 400 and 800 relays.

Loyal won the girls conference title with three first-place finishes.

Loyal’s first-place finishers included Sheila Tellock in the pole vault and Alyssia Zvolena in the high jump. Loyal also won the 400-meter relay.

Neillsville got a first-place finish from Ava Miller in the triple jump. Neillsville also won the 800-meter relay and the 1,600-meter relay

Colby’s Hayden Willner took first in the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. MaKenna Herrmann won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200. Daelyn Rieck won the discus. Colby also won the 3,200-meter relay.

Neillsville got first-place finishes from Ashten Schultz in the high jump, the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.

Colby’s Caden Healy was first in the long jump with teammate Ivan Haemer taking first in the triple jump. Colby also took first in the 400-meter relay.

Owen-Withee’s Nathan Zarins claimed first in the shot put and the discus. Mason Gay took first in the 800-meter run. Owen-Withee also took first in the 800- and 3,200-meter relays.

Columbus Catholic got wins from Isaac Scheer in the 1,600 and 3,200. Cal Birkhauser won the 400.

Spencer’s Johnathon Jonas won the 100 and 200.

Spencer’s Breckin Miller won the pole vault.

Loyal took first in the 1,600 relay.

BASEBALL

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Pitchers Ty Rechner and Braylen Nystrom combined to toss a two-hitter to lead the Panthers past the Red Raiders.

Rechner pitched the first five innings, allowing one hit, while walking four and striking out six. Nystrom pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit, while striking out four.

Nystrom was hot at the plate as well, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, while Jackson Fox was 2-for-4 with a triple and Carl Biechler 2-for-3 with a double.

Stevens Point is 8-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and 16-1 overall.

The teams will meet again Thursday at 7 p.m. at Bukolt Park in Stevens Point.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 5, Bonduel 1

BONDUEL - The Bears saw their six-game winning streak come to an end at Jack Reinke Field.

The Chargers banged out eight hits as they scored once in the second, twice in the third and fifth. They also took advantage of five errors. Bonduel scored its lone run in the second.

Nate Waupekenay picked up the win, pitching all seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and one walk, while striking out five.

Noah Weier took the loss, going 4⅔ innings, allowing five runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.

Owen Dickman had two hits for the Chargers, while the Bears had three doubles among their four hits - one each by Beckett Hartlaben, Noah Weier and Colin Margelofsky.

Bonduel is now 11-4 overall and 7-4 in CWC East play.

Pittsville 4, Marathon 1

PITTSVILLE - Dawson Luther shut down the Red Raiders on just four hits as the Panthers earned the nonconference win.

Luther allowed just one earned run, while walking seven and striking out four.

Pittsville scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Waylon Grimm was 2-for-3 with a double, while Dawson Luther and Dylan Luther both doubled and drove in a run.

Owen-Withee 5, Gilman 2

OWEN - Elliot Ackerman allowed just two runs - one earned - on three hits with six strikeouts in 6⅓ innings to power the Blackhawks past the Pirates in Cloverbelt Conference play.

Owen-Withee broke up a 2-2 tie by scoring three runs in the sixth inning.

SOFTBALL

Stevens Point 14, Wausau East 2

WAUSAU - The Panthers scored in five of the six innings played as nine SPASH players got at least one hit.

Mikah Keller led the way, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

The Panthers scored two in the first, four in the second, one in the fourth, four in the fifth and three in the sixth en route to the Wisconsin Valley Conference win.

Claire Coushman was 2-for-3 with a double for the Lumberjacks.

Auburndale 13, Tigerton 7

AUBURNDALE - The Eagles scored in all but one inning en route to the nonconference victory.

Samantha Stanton powered the Auburndale offense, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Danika Blomberg was 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Also leading the Eagles were Mya Krings, who was 3-for-5 with a double and four runs scored. Ashlyn Grimm was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, and Taylor Anderson, who was 2-for-4.

McKenzie Hoffman led Tigerton, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

With the win, Auburndale moves to 13-3.

Mosinee 12, Edgar 2

MOSINEE - The game was tied 2-2 until the fifth. That’s when Mosinee broke it open with five runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to earn the nonconference win.

Emily Verhassealt homered and drove in five runs for Mosinee. Martina Miller was 4-for-4 with three doubles and two RBIs, while Amber Gonzalez was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Also powering Mosinee were Maggie Woller, who was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Alanna Bambenek, who was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Morgan Streveler paced Edgar, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.

Athens 9, Cadott 2

CADOTT - The Bluejays trailed 2-0 after four innings before scoring four times in the fifth and sixth innings to break it open. Athens added a final run in the seventh.

Jazelle Hartwig was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Elle Gauerke doubled and drove in three runs to power the Bluejays.

Danica Diethelm picked up the win in the circle, pitching 5⅔ innings, allowing four hits, two runs - one earned - with three walks and six strikeouts. Paige Westaby finished up, going the last 1⅓ innings, allowing one hit while striking out two.

Almond-Bancroft 11, Port Edwards 1 (Monday)

ALMOND - Messina Meddaugh had two hits and drove in four runs to lead the Eagles to the win.

Wisconsin Rapids 2, Marshfield 1

MARSHFIELD - The Red Raiders scored two goals early in the second half to take a 2-1 lead in the victory over the Tigers.

Abbey Ongna scored in the first half for Marshfield off an assist by Maddie Nikolai.

Abbey Gust scored in the 45th minute for Rapids to tie the game, then Aliyah Jennings scored in the 53rd minute to give Rapids the lead.

Assumption 10, Wautoma 0

WAUTOMA - The Royals outshot Wautoma 18-2, scoring eight goals in the first half and two after the intermission.

Sarah Shaw opened the scoring for Assumption 98 seconds into the match and finished with a hat trick. Kendall Duellman added four goals and Addi Vollert, Jerlin Ferreira and Gracie Johnson rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece. Duellman, Shaw and Annabelle Khang each recorded assists.

Morgan Reichl and Haley Hintz each saw time as goalkeeper for the Royals, saving two shots total. Marissa Vasquez stopped 15 shots for the Hornets.

Assumption improves to 11-2 overall while Wautoma falls to 0-15-2.

Merrill 3, Wausau East 1

MERRILL - Alayna Boyd scored two goals and Gracie Boyd added one as the Bluejays earned the Wisconsin Valley Conference win.

Abigail Iriarte scored for Wausau East.

Alayna Boyd got the scoring started in the 13th minute and Gracie Boyd made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute.

Iriarte cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 59th minute, but Alayna Boyd countered in the 65th minute to close out the scoring.
