GIRLS

WINNECONNE 166, KEWASKUM 119, PLYMOUTH 100, BERLIN 98, KETTLE MORAINE LUTHERAN 97, WAUPUN 83, RIPON 35

Winneconne turned in a strong performance to capture the girls conference title.

Joey Perry won four events for Winneconne, taking first in the 200- and 400-meter dashes, the 300-meter hurdles and the high jump.

Sophie Yetter had three first-place finishes for Winneconne, taking the top spot in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200.

Winneconne’s other first-place finishes came in the shot put where Emily Schell won, in the pole vault with Carly Zemke winning and in the long jump where Kaylee McLeod took first.

Ella Ahlstrand took first for Plymouth in the 100-meter dash. Plymouth also won the 400-meter relay.

Waupun got a first-place finish in the discus where Michielah Borchardt had the best throw.

Winneconne had four individual first-place finishes and three first-place finishes in the relays en route the boys conference title.

Ayden Hart was a double winner for Winneconne in individual events, taking first in both the 110- and 300-meter hurdles. Grant Wenzelow won the 1,600-meter run. Brady Immel won the discus. Winneconne won the 400-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter relay events.

Waupun’s Jacob Abel took first in the 100-meter dash, the long jump and the triple jump.

Berlin’s Deven Derleth won the 400-meter dash,

Plymouth’s Emmitt Huhn won the 800-meter run. Jack Jacquat took first in the high jump.

Ripon had a first-place finish from Noah Hanson in the shot put and Brandyn Beahm in the pole vault.

BASEBALL

Hortonville 3, Appleton North 0

APPLETON - Nate Vela tossed his second no-hitter in three games to lead the Polar Bears to the Fox Valley Association win. In Vela’s other outing in that stretch, he allowed one hit against Appleton West after no-hitting Oshkosh North.

Against the Lightning, Vela walked two and struck out 12.

Evan Mahan was 2-for-4, while Hayden Timm drove in a pair of runs for Hortonville.

Ben Tomassetti took the loss for Appleton North, going 4⅔ innings, allowing five hits, three runs (two earned) with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Kimberly 10, Appleton West 0

KIMBERLY - The Papermakers pounded out 13 hits and took advantage of four Terrors errors in the victory.

Brayden Deering pitched six innings to get the win. He allowed two hits and one walk while striking out 10.

Kale Twombly and Brady Coons had two hits for Kimberly. Coons had a double and scored twice. Max Kalk had a home run and four RBIs while Bryson Vieth had a home run and two RBIs. Hudson Wagner added a double.

Loren Georger took the loss for Appleton West.

Shiocton 11, Manawa 2

SHIOCTON - The Chiefs scored in five of the seven innings to earn the Central Wisconsin Conference win.

Bennett Wilcox led the 13-hit attack, going 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI.

Also powering Shiocton were Dawson Schmidt, who was 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs. Sawyer Young was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Ty Marcks was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Tanner Neinhaus was 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored to lead Manawa.

Waupaca 6, Wrightstown 1

WAUPACA - Henry Williams was 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Comets pitchers shut down the Tigers on two hits to earn the North Eastern Conference win.

Ashton Hernandez pitched the first six innings, allowing one earned run and one hit with two walks and three strikeouts, while Brady Johnson finished up, allowing one hit, two walks and striking out one.

Wrightstown opened the scoring with a run in the first, but Waupaca responded with one run in the first, two in the second, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Pulaski 6, Seymour 0

SEYMOUR - Logan Brabant picked up the win as the Thunder was held to just five hits in the nonconference matchup.

Caden Rybicki paced the Red Raiders, going 3-for-4 with an RBI with three runs scored, while Kyle Olson was 2-for-3 and Brady Wotruba 2-for-4.

Lucas Leisgang led Seymour, going 2-for-3.

St. Mary Catholic 3, Sheboygan Lutheran 0

FOX CROSSING - Fisher Mackenzie tossed a one-hitter, striking out 12 batters to lead the Zephyrs past the Crusaders in Big East Conference action.

Matt Betchner had the hot bat for SMC, going 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Colin Nigl doubled.

The Zephyrs scored twice in the third and once in the sixth.

David Vanie took the loss, pitching six innings, allowing nine hits, three earned runs with two walks and six strikeouts.

Chilton 15, Hilbert 1

CHILTON - The Tigers scored eight runs in the second inning to take an 11-1 lead in the five-inning nonconference win.

Ryan Lisowe had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in four runs. Austin Grube also had three hits and an RBI, and Peyton Juckem had three hits and an RBI. Dahlton Tasch added two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs, while Slatt Nolan and Ryan Pierquet each had two hits. Kenyon Davidson added two RBIs.

Peyton Juckem pitched three innings to get the win. He allowed two hits, an unearned run and struck out four. Hudson Ludwig pitched two innings, allowed two hits and struck out two.

SOFTBALL

Kimberly 3, Oshkosh West 2

KIMBERLY - The Papermakers scored in the ninth inning on a two-out double to beat the Wildcats.

Brianna Bougie pitched all nine innings for Oshkosh West, striking out six and walking none.

Kathryn Bergin had two hits and Laina Hammen hit a double for the Wildcats.

New London 4, Seymour 1

NEW LONDON - The Bulldogs extended their Bay Conference winning streak to 34 straight with the victory over the Thunder and clinched their third consecutive conference title at the same time.

Kenna Mix struck out 14 for New London.

Eve Hedtke had two hits for New London, including a double, and drove in two runs. Mix also had two hits.

Gillian Herrala took the loss for Seymour.

Ashley Kraning and Morgan Miller had doubles for Seymour.

Fond du Lac 2, Appleton North 1

FOND DU LAC - The Cardinals defeated the Lightning on Izzy Neal’s walk-off single in the bottom half of the seventh inning.

MacKenna Shulits had two hits, including a double, for Fond du Lac. Susan Vokes also hit a double.

Vokes pitched a complete game for Fond du Lac, allowing one run on three hits while striking out five.

Freedom 10, West De Pere 5

DE PERE - With the Phantoms up 5-4 after three, the Irish answered with two in the fourth and four in the sixth to earn the nonconference win.

Rylie Murphy had the hot bat, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs, two stolen bases and three runs scored, while Kierstin Kriewaldt was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Marlee Smith was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three runs scored, and Lauren Scheibe was 2-for-4.

Peyton VandeLoo picked up the win in relief, going four innings, allowing no runs on three hits with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Elle Arendt homered and drove in all five runs for West De Pere. Also powering the Phantoms offense were Nevaeh Wagendorf, who was 3-for-4, and Karleigh Linssen, who was 3-for-4 with a double.

GIRLS SOCCER

Kimberly 8, Hortonville 0

KIMBERLY - Abby Lom had a goal and two assists for the Papermakers.

Laura Bouruc, Emily McCarthy, Averie Raasch, Marie Van Zeeland, Jenna Scholz, Sonja Mau and Alli Steeno also scored for Kimberly.

Lauren Heckert and McCarthy shared time in goal in the shutout.

Appleton North 2, Oshkosh West 2

APPLETON - The Wildcats raced out to a 2-0 lead and kept that edge late into the second half.

The Lightning, however, answered with back-to-back goals in the 75th minute by Brinley Dunsirn and Kalli Drexler. Madi Hacker assisted on both.

Luxemburg-Casco 2, Waupaca 1

WAUPACA - After going down 1-0, Luxemburg-Casco came from behind to beat conference opponent Waupaca.

Emi Kuhn scored in the first half to tie it up and Trinity Windham scored the game winner in the second half.

Tabi Lemens made eight saves for L-C.

Fox Valley Lutheran 4, Denmark 1

APPLETON - The Foxes fell behind 1-0 before scoring four unanswered goals in the win over the Vikings.

Gianna Bay scored Fox Valley Lutheran’s first goal to tie the game with Jessi Griepentrog scoring the next three goals.

Brooke Calaway had an assist for Fox Valley Lutheran on Griepentrog’s first goal.

Hailey Wheeler scored Denmark’s goal with Lilly Kaminski getting an assist.
