Trey Smith set to play in Super Bowl LVII

Former Tennessee offensive lineman Trey Smith will play in Super Bowl LVII Sunday.

The second-year guard will play for Kansas City against Philadelphia at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. EST. FOX will televise the contest.

Smith, a Humboldt, Tennessee native, has appeared in 33 regular-season games for Kansas City, including 33 starts. He started at guard for the Chiefs in five playoff games.

Smith played for the Vols from 2017-20 under head coaches Butch Jones and Jeremy Pruitt.

He was a two-time All-SEC standout for the Vols (2019-20). Smith was an all-conference performer during his 2017 freshman campaign, starting 12 contests.

In his first season with the Chiefs, he was named to the PFBWA All-Rookie Team.

Smith was selected in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL draft (No. 226 overall).

Before arriving at Tennessee, he played at University School of Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee for head coach Rusty Bradley. Bradley is the son of former Vols’ assistant Mark Bradley.
