Travis Kelce addresses Ja’Marr Chase in latest Chiefs-Bengals beef

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick MahomesSuper Bowl ring ceremony retort to Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase didn’t put a stop to the offseason banter between members of the two clubs.

Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce recently discussed the current beef between the two squads on their “New Heights” podcast, which is centered around some comments made to the media by both Chase and his quarterback Joe Burrow. After Burrow called Patrick Mahomes the best QB in the world right now, Chase sought to come to the defense of his QB, disrespecting Mahomes in the process.

The Kelce brother’s conversation about the topic seemed pretty spot on.

“I thought it was a little bold,” Travis Kelce said. “(Mahomes is) a two-time league MVP, two-time Super Bowl MVP. To say ‘Pat who’ is like…”

“It’s a little disrespectful,” Jason Kelce said. “Pat didn’t like it. Mahomes tweeted a picture of himself at the Chiefs’ ring ceremony — glad you guys had fun doing that — wearing his two Super Bowl rings with the declaration ‘That’s Who.'”

“It is what it is, dog,” Travis Kelce said. “Who doesn’t love some good locker room banter, man? Shoutout to Ja’Marr Chase for holding it down for his QB, but don’t you ever disrespect Pat Mahomes now. If you want to talk your (expletive), talk your (expletive), pimp. Just better back it up.”

No one should expect Chase to say anything bad about his quarterback, but there’s probably a better way to do that than by slighting Patrick Mahomes. Kicking the hornet’s nest could certainly come back to sting Chase in the future.
