Transfer commit backs out of joining Badgers

Wyoming transfer guard Noah Reynolds announced Wednesday that he is backing out of his intention to commit to Wisconsin. He has officially reopened his recruitment in the portal.

Reynolds originally stated on April 5 that he’d be joining the Badgers in 2023 after spending two seasons with Wyoming. The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 14.5 points in his second year with the Cowboys and was expected to give the Badgers a big boost in the backcourt.

Considering the fact that Wisconsin reeled in 6-foot-6 wing AJ Storr from St. John’s on Thursday (April 13), it’s possible that Reynolds felt like his role wouldn’t be what he wanted in Madison.

Although it’s tough to see him change his mind, Greg Gard and his staff could now acquire an additional asset from the portal, potentially addressing their need for another big man behind Steven Crowl and Tyler Wahl.
