Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

It's all over in north London, and Manchester City seal a 2-0 victory to stand on the brink of an unprecedented fourth Premier League title in a row!! A goalless first half gave way to the opener just six minutes into the second, as a slick City attack was finished off by Haaland - who else? - from close range. The visitors had already forced a save from Vicario via De Bruyne's thunderous shot on the turn, and tested him again through Doku. Spurs threw everything forward at the other end chasing an equaliser, but neither Son, Romero, or Kulusevski could beat either Ederson or Ortega, who came off the bench to make a decisive stop by denying Son on the break. With injury time on the horizon, Porro's foul on Doku drew a penalty for the Citizens, and Haaland stepped up once more to bury both the spot-kick and Tottenham's Champions League chances in one fell swoop. It ends 2-0 in City's favour, a win which takes them two points clear of Arsenal at the summit with just one game remaining. Spurs are confined to the Europa League in the process, and for their north London rivals Arsenal, they mauy have just been condemned to a second consecutive season of finishing behind Pep Guardiola's sky blue juggernaut.

The hosts arguably went the closest of either side in the sixth minute, with Bentancur forcing an early stop from Ederson.
