These are the top SW Indiana high school athletes from the week of Jan. 1-6

EVANSVILLE — This winter, the Courier & Press will highlight the top high school performances each night.

Here are the best from the week of Jan. 2-6.

Tuesday, January 2

Chloey Graham, Gibson Southern basketball: The senior had a game-high 20 points for the Titans in a win over Mount Vernon.

Jace Jenkins, Princeton basketball: The junior had 29 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Tigers in a 70-54 win over Central.

Emmersen Kalb, Northeast Dubois basketball: The junior had a game-high 18 points in a 45-28 win over county rival Forest Park.

Braylen Langley, Reitz basketball: The sophomore had 12 points and six rebounds for the Panthers in a 46-41 conference win over Jasper.

Malachi McNair, Harrison basketball: The senior had a game-high 24 points for the Warriors in a 79-49 conference victory against Mater Dei.

Memorial wrestling: The Tigers defeated No. 9 Heritage Hills 39-33 as Luca Cirignano, Matteo Cirignano, David Adams, Grant Cicale, David Heeke, Geno Aimone, Conner Hoar and Aiden Waller all won their matches.

Andrew Noblitt, Jasper basketball: The senior had a game-high 17 points for the Wildcats in a loss at Reitz.

Zane Norman, Mater Dei basketball: The senior had a team-high 18 points in a loss to Harrison.

Katie Reed, Washington basketball: The sophomore had a team-high 13 points, four rebounds and two blocks in a 37-28 victory against Southridge.

Molly Schulte, South Spencer basketball: The senior had 17 points, eight assists and two steals in a 55-37 victory against Evansville Christian.

Wednesday, January 3

Avery Kelley, Memorial basketball: The senior had 17 points, including seven in the fourth quarter, and a team-high seven boards in a 53-51 win over Central.

Ayden McAtee, Castle basketball: The senior had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds in a 60-40 victory against Boonville.

Maddy Shirley, Central basketball: The sophomore had another double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Memorial.

Lavell Tinsley, Boonville basketball: The junior had a game-high 24 points in a loss to Castle.

Mallory Watt, Princeton basketball: The sophomore scored a game-high 21 points and hit five three-pointers for the Tigers in a 53-48 win over Vincennes Lincoln.

Thursday, January 4

Ella Bobe, South Knox basketball: The junior scored a game-high 20 points in a 92-10 conference win against Washington Catholic.

Lexi Frey, Vincennes Rivet basketball: The junior totaled 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Patriots in a loss to Linton-Stockton.

Gibson Southern swimming: Senior Laira Cloin broke the school record in the 100 fly with a time of 1:04.22 while Logan Tooley, Owen Mercer, Dawson Maurer and Jake Richter broke their own school record in the 200 medley with a time of 1:47.58 in quad meets against Tecumseh, Evansville Christian and Vincennes Lincoln.

Chloey Graham, Gibson Southern basketball: The senior scored 22 points in a 80-46 conference victory against Boonville. Graham is now the program's all-time leading scorer.

Alyssa Heath, North Posey basketball: The junior scored 25 points for the Vikings in a 62-49 win over Tecumseh.

Hadley Leibering, Heritage Hills basketball: The junior scored a team-high 17 points in a 51-47 win against South Spencer.

Norah Miller, Reitz basketball: The senior had a game-high 18 points in a loss to Castle.

Jayden Scott, Castle basketball: The sophomore had 10 points and the game-winning three-pointer in a 52-49 win over Reitz.

Gabby Spink, Gibson Southern basketball: The junior totaled 30 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals in a win against Boonville. Spink also became the seventh member of the 1,000 point club.

Friday, January 5

Josiah Dunham, Evansville Christian basketball: The senior scored 29 points for the top-ranked Eagles in a 68-51 victory against Linton Stockton.

Royal Elliott, Bosse basketball: The senior scored a team-high 18 points for the Bulldogs in a 74-64 win over Central.

Lily Greenfield, Reitz wrestling: The junior advanced to the IHSGW state finals with a third place finish in the 105-pound class.

Reid Howard, Forest Park basketball: The senior had 20 points for the Rangers in a 61-53 win at Mount Vernon.

Malachi McNair, Harrison basketball: The senior totaled 21 points and 11 rebounds, his seventh double-double this year, in a 57-47 win over North.

Mount Vernon wrestling: The Wildcats advance four wrestlers to the IHSGW state finals: Taylor Mason (135), Madalyn McCarthy (140), Cammie Ritchie (235) and Hannah West (190). West was the semistate champion in her class.

Laine Mullins, Jasper wrestling: The senior advanced to the IHSGW state finals with a third place finish in the 140-pound class.

North Posey wrestling: The Vikings advance three wrestlers to the IHSGW state finals: Adelyn Gamblin (125), Lydia Justus (115) and Kenna Kleinschmidt (105).

Joel Sanders, Vincennes Lincoln basketball: The junior had 20 points for the Alices in a 45-39 win against rival Jasper.

Trent Sisley, Heritage Hills basketball: The junior scored a game-high 25 points in a 69-63 win at Gibson Southern.

Rebecca Snider, Southridge wrestling: The senior advanced to the IHSGW state finals with a third place finish in the 115-pound class.

Colton Stowers, Washington basketball: The junior had 22 points for the Hatchets in a 63-52 win over North Knox.

Tucker Tornatta, Memorial basketball: The senior scored a career-high 33 points for the Tigers inn a 70-54 win over Castle.

Saturday, January 6

Raden Benson, Vincennes Lincoln basketball: The senior had 23 points and eight boards in a loss at Bosse.

Nicot Burnett, Mount Vernon basketball: The senior had a game-high 19 points in a loss to North Posey.

Logan Day, Jasper basketball: The sophomore scored 20 points and hit six three-pointers in a 52-45 comeback win against North.

Luke Ellspermann, Memorial basketball: The junior scored a game-high 23 points in a 62-51 win over Mt. Vernon (Ill.).

Forest Park wrestling: The Rangers were the Forest Park Wrestling Invite champions for the first time since 1998 and had three individual champions: Parker Delagrange (120), Kris Fuhrman (150) and Clayton Roesner (132).

Chloey Graham, Gibson Southern basketball: The senior had 37 points (including a school-record 11 3-pointers), four rebounds, four steals and three assists in a 73-42 win over Tell City.

Taray Howell, Bosse basketball: The senior had a team-high 18 points in a 51-48 win against Vincennes Lincoln.

Memorial wrestling: The Tigers were the Madison HS Nick Shaddy Memorial Tournament champions as Geno Aimone, Conner Hoar and Bryant Carr all went undefeated on the day.

Katie Reed, Washington basketball: The sophomore had 16 points and 9 rebounds in a key conference win over Princeton.

Jordan Scott, Castle basketball: The junior had 17 points and hit the game-winning free throws with 2.8 seconds left in a 57-55 overtime win against No. 7 Bedford North Lawrence.

Trent Sisley, Heritage Hills basketball: The junior scored 29 points for the Patriots in a 57-52 win over Washington.

South Spencer wrestling: The Rebels had three individual champions at the Forest Park Invitational: Blaine Mead, Eli Rogers and Jude Small.

Kylan Wathen, North Posey basketball: The senior had a team-high 17 points for the Vikings in a 60-41 victory against county rival Mount Vernon.

Tate Whitehead, Southridge basketball: The junior scored a team-high 17 points in a 64-45 win at Northeast Dubois.
