Top five apparel companies that Notre Dame should sign with

This coming season might be the last forNotre Dame and under armour, there should be multiple apparel suitors fighting for the Irish’s signature.

As one of the strongest brands in all of college football and collegiate sports, whoever signs the Irish will have a significant jump in their sales. There will be plenty of rumors over the next year as to who Notre Dame will sign with and rightfully so.

Notre Dame is the biggest free agent school to hit the market in a while so it’s going to be very interesting to see who they sign with. These are my top five companies the Irish should sign with.

#5 - New Balance

Why

They really shouldn’t even be an option, but people seem to be intrigued with them. Personally, I have worn their baseball cleats so I can vouch for their comfort and so can their face, Shohei Ohtani. Their colors and styles are solid, but they don’t really do well with much aside from the cleats. Their uniform selections look much more like high school style, so from that aspect, New Balance is most likely a pass but makes the list due to no one else really being a contender.

#4 Adidas

Why

A return to the company who outfitted the Irish for 10-years starting in 1997 makes sense. They are familiar with the school, still make great products and many could retread the gear they once bought. Their cleats are some of the top rated, especially for skill position players. The uniforms are solid, although I question how some of the alternates or throw-backs would look.

#3 Under Armour

Why

Staying with the status quo isn’t the worst idea. The current players are comfortable with the gear and they have done a great job with alternate uniforms. The all-whites worn in Las Vegas this year were fantastic, the uniforms in general have been solid. The cleats are some of the best around as well, which is important for the players.

#2 Nike

Why

The leader in athletic gear makes a ton of sense. The options that Nike has is immense, even if the Irish wouldn’t be outfitted like Oregon. Multiple top schools across the country go with the swoosh. They have a great system for football, great alternates and the other gear is mainly what players wear outside of the team gear given to them. It’s hard not to say no to them.

#1 Jordan

Why

A subsidiary of Nike, the Jordan brand has just a few schools rocking their gear like Florida and North Carolina. More and more players in the NFL are wearing their equipment, meaning that if it’s the quality that teams are looking for. They fall under the Nike the banner as well, so the gear that the Irish would get would be wide-ranging. Imagine buying Notre Dame style Jordan’s. They’d be a tough get but fantastic.
