Shoot 3s vs Tony Allen, Rudy Gay, Mario Chalmers at Memphis March Madness Beale Street event

A trio of former Grizzlies players will be on Beale Street for a March Madness-related event on Saturday.

Rudy Gay, Tony Allen and Mario Chalmers will take in a 3-point contest hosted by Starry on Saturday on Beale Street. The event, sponsored by Starry, will run from noon to 4 p.m. and will coincide with NCAA Tournament games being played in Memphis. The tournament games will be on Friday and Sunday, but winning teams from Friday will hold press conferences at nearby FedExForum on Saturday.

Gay played for the Grizzlies from 2006-13, and overlapped with Allen, who was with the team from 2010-17.

Chalmers was well-known to Memphians before he signed with the Grizzlies because of famous shot in the 2008 NCAA national championship game. But he was traded to the Grizzles in 2015 and played for Memphis until 2018.

Fans will be able to compete with Gay, Allen and Chalmers in the 3-point contest and the event will also feature "an afternoon of basketball, music, and fun," according to Starry.

NCAA Tournament games will take place all day on Friday at FedExForum, starting with No. 3 seed Baylor against No. 14 seed Colgate at 11:40 a.m.
