Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has announced his retirement after 23 seasons in the NFL, this time for good.
The GOAT’s announcement comes one year to the day from the last time he retired, but that one only lasted 41 days, as he returned to play the 2022 season with the Bucs.
Now, Brady walks away from professional football widely regarded as the best quarterback, and one of the best players, in NFL history.
Brady leaves the game with countless records, both across the entire league, and for both of the teams he played for, the Bucs and the New England Patriots. Over his three seasons in Tampa Bay, he led the Bucs to the playoffs three times, helped them win back-to-back division titles for the first time in franchise history, as well as their second Lombardi Trophy.
His departure now leaves the Bucs with a massive hole at the game’s most important position, and ends perhaps the greatest career in football history.
