What would today’s college football rankings look like under old BCS formula?
There is a lot of football left to be played but there sits a possible nightmare scenario for the College Football Playoff.
As we enter Week 9 of the season, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia, Washington, and Oklahoma are all undefeated from Power Five conferences. Michigan and Ohio State meeting at the end of the regular season will guarantee one loss for the two, but what if each other team runs the table?
Can you imagine the justified outrage if one of those teams ran the table and spent the College Football Playoff on the outside looking in?
Now imagine how things would look under the old BCS system.
Forget missing out at a chance at No. 5, you’d have No. 3 and No. 4 missing out on a championship chance as well.
But what would the BCS formula say about today’s rankings? Who would it have graded as the nation’s top few teams and who would have been left on the outside?
The people at BCSKnowhow put together what the BCS rankings would like today.
Who is in the all-important No. 1 and No. 2 spots and which unbeaten is it simply just not buying into?
