Tipton eases past Camanche in 45-26 season opening win

Nov. 21—CAMANCHE — The Tipton Tigers had four scorers with seven or more points on Tuesday night as they defeated the Camanche Storm 45-26 to open up the 2023-2024 season.

Tipton set the pace early, draining a pair of threes to take a 6-2 lead over the Storm. Along with three pointers, their full court press was causing the Storm plenty of problems early with turnovers hindering Camanche.

The third three pointer of the first quarter made it 11-4 with the Storm calling their first time out of the game. Both sides got another basket to drop but the Tigers took a 13-6 lead into the second quarter.

Camanche's Izzy Beal was able to get her second basket of the game to drop to slow down the Tigers and make it 17-8.

The Storm were able to hit a three late in the quarter but the Tigers took an 11 point lead into the half, 24-13.

Transition buckets came in handy for the Tigers to begin the third quarter, pushing the pace and increasing the scoring for both sides. After the Tigers went up big, the Storm were able to pull it back within 11, 34-23. Tipton hit another three to end the third quarter and extend their lead to 37-23.

The fourth quarter was not pretty for either side to start with neither team able to score through the first two minutes.

Tipton scored in transition late, capitalizing on turnovers to seal the deal on a 45-26 win.

Beal led the way for the Storm, scoring 10 points while Zoie Vogel had five points and both Celina Hermann and Jeorgia Neumann added four.

Carly Langenberg and Hadley Hinderaker both had eight points to lead the Tigers with Storm Snyder and Alivia Edens adding seven points.
