Texas football has gotten confirmation of who their opponents will be in the Longhorns inaugural SEC season.

The news was announced on the SEC Network at 6 p.m. Central Time Wednesday, although the dates of those games won't be just yet. Previously confirmed for the Longhorns in 2024 are three non-conference matchups, including Colorado State on Aug. 31, Michigan on Sept. 7, and UTSA on Sept. 14.

Historically, the Longhorns have fared well against SEC opponents. Here's a look back at their record against the teams they'll face in 2024:

Texas vs. Arkansas football

A former Southwestern Conference rival, the Longhorns first played the Razorbacks in 1894, winning by a whopping 54-0.

From 1932 to 1991, the teams faced each other annually, including in the 1969 "Game of the Century" in which Texas rallied to a comeback 15-14 win.

The teams last played in 2021, with Arkansas winning 40-21, seven years after the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl was won 31-7 by the Razorbacks. Texas' last win against Arkansas was in 2008, a 52-10 victory.

Overall record vs. Razorbacks: 56-23

Texas vs. Florida football

Florida has never won against Texas.

The two teams have played each other just three times. Their first matchup in 1924 ended in a 7-7 tie. In 1939 and 1940, the Longhorns shutout the Gators in both games, winning 12-0 in '39 and 26-0 in '40.

Overall record vs. Gators: 2-0-1

Texas vs. Georgia football

The first game in this series was the 1949 Orange Bowl, a game Texas won 41-28. Georgia's only win against the Longhorns came in a 10-9 victory in the 1984 Cotton Bowl.

Texas' last victory against the Bulldogs was a 28-21 win in the 2019 Sugar Bowl.

Overall record vs. Bulldogs: 4-1

Texas vs. Kentucky football

These two have played just once, with Texas claiming a 7-6 victory in a home game in 1951.

Overall record vs. Wildcats: 1-0

Texas vs. Oklahoma football

While not in the SEC just yet, the Sooners will be joining the Longhorns in their new conference come 2024. The two long-time rivals have played each other more than 100 times. Texas won the first ever game at home in 1900, 28-2.

Texas also won the last match-up, a 49-0 shellacking in the 2022 Red River rivalry game. It was the Longhorns first win over the Sooners since 2018.

The two will meet at least once more as Big 12 rivals on Oct. 7, 2023.

Overall record vs. Sooners: 63-50-5

Texas vs. Mississippi State football

The two schools have only faced off on the gridiron four times. The Longhorns opened the series with a 54-7 victory in 1921.

The teams didn't play each other against until 1991 when the Bulldogs won 13-6 and again in 1992 in a 28-10. The Longhorns own the win streak following their 38-11 win in the 1999 Cotton Bowl.

Overall record vs. Bulldogs: 2-2

Texas vs. Texas A&M football

An historic rivalry, the Longhorns and Aggies have played one another more than 100 times since their first meeting in 1894. That game ended in 38-0 win for Texas and four years later, the game became an annual tradition for more than a century.

The rivalry matchup ended in 2011 when the Aggies move to the Big 12, with a game-winning field goal giving the Longhorns bragging rights. Even with the prospect of a return to the rivalry game, Aggie leadership has said they are opposed to the Longhorns joining them in the SEC.

Overall record vs. Aggies: 76-37-5

Texas vs. Vanderbilt football

The team with the biggest margin of wins against Texas is Vanderbilt. The Commodores won the first matchup in the series in 1899 and in subsequent games would frequently shutout the Longhorns.

But the two teams haven't played each other since 1928 when Vanderbilt won 13-12. The Longhorns last victory against the Commodores a year earlier when they took a 13-6 victory.
