Texas A&M Player Profile: Offensive Lineman, Jordan Spasojevic-Moko

Going into the 2022 football season, Aggies Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Texas A&M roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Jimbo Fisher this season.

Jordan Spasojevic-Moko is entering his redshirt sophomore season as the presumed starter at left guard on the Aggies offensive line. Moko spent last season as a reserve player while only appearing in three games total, and choosing to redshirt for the rest of the 2021 season. Moko’s journey to Texas A&M is fascinating, to say the least, as a native of Brisbane Australia, Moko played football for the Brisbane Rhinos at the defensive tackle position, and also participated in Rugby. In order to gain more recognition on the gridiron, Moko transferred to Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, where he made the switch to the offensive line and quickly shot up the JUCO rankings due to his dominant play and became the top offensive tackle prospect in the 2021 class. After Texas A&M offered Moko on Oct. 19, 2020, Moko chose the Aggies over LSU and Oregon, and committed to A&M on Feb. 05, 2021. Offensive line coach for the Aggies, Steve Addazio, known for his development of O-line prospects during his tenure as a position coach and head coach in the college ranks, will have quite the project in Jordan Spasojevic-Moko over the next couple of seasons, but his work ethic and focus on the fundamentals starting this summer should leave him as one of the top players to watch for the Aggies before the start of the 2022 season.

Depth Chart Overview

Jordan Spasojevic-Moko is currently projected as the starting left guard on the 1st team offensive line unit in Texas A&M’s pro-style offense, led by Head Coach, Jimbo Fisher, and Offensive Coordinator, Darrell Dickey. Moko is set to be in the starting lineup with left tackle, Trey Zuhn (Redshirt Sophomore), center, Bryce Foster (Sophomore), right guard, Layden Robinson (Redshirt Junior), and right tackle, Reuben Fatheree (Sophomore). Moko is a massive presence on the offensive line with the skillset and versatility to play tackle or guard, most likely slotting into the left guard position to fully employ his brute play strength and run blocking ability needed to have success within Jimbo Fisher’s scheme. From a traits perspective, Moko’s 6-5, 340lb frame spells trouble for opposing defenders, consistently using his size and strong lower body as a bulldozer in run blocking, while keeping a solid base and quick out of his stance with strong hands in pass protection, again emphasizing his natural strength and instincts when protecting the edge. Moko does have some issues with footwork and other technique-based issues in pass protection, but to quote his teammate Layden Robinson, “There’s something coach Fisher always says and it’s ‘alignment, assignment technique.” “That’s what we really need to focus on this summer. We will get that done.”

Overall, Jordan Spasojevic-Moko is coming into his own at the right time for the Aggies, bringing a powerful play style to a young group that will have its challenges, but look to prove that they belong as one of the top units in the country by seasons end.
