Texas commit Arch Manning shines in playoff victory

Five-star quarterback Arch Manning will enroll at Texas for the upcoming spring semester.

Steve Sarkisian and Texas’ coaching staff are chomping at the bit to get Manning with the program. Before Manning makes it to his future home in Austin, the nation’s top prospect has work left to do at the high school level.

Manning and Isidore Newman High School began their quest for a Louisiana state championship on Friday night.

The Texas commit turned in an excellent performance to lead Newman to a 57-19 victory. Manning completed an efficient 8-of-10 passes for 196 yards and two scores. He added another touchdown on the ground early in the game.

The dominant season for Manning continues. His playoff win improved his season passing stats to an impressive 2,230 yards and 34 touchdowns. Manning has yet to throw an interception this year on 208 pass attempts.

Manning and the Greenies move on to the quarterfinals of the Louisiana high school playoffs. They match up with University Laboratory School next Friday night.
