Texans sign WR Steven Sims to active roster, add another to practice squad

The Houston Texans made two small roster moves Tuesday. The team signed wide receiver Steven Sims from the practice squad to the active roster and signed defensive tackle McTelvin Agim to the practice squad.

The Sims move was likely made after veteran wide receiver Noah Brown landed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury he suffered in the wild-card win over the Cleveland Browns. Sims would fill in as the team’s fifth receiver ahead of the divisional round match with the Baltimore Ravens.

Sims joined the Texans practice squad before the 2023 season after he spent the preseason in Houston. He spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 where he caught 14 receptions for 104 yards and rushed 13 times for 70 yards. Sims also caught 61 receptions for 575 yards and five touchdowns in two seasons with the Washington Commanders from 2019 to 2020.

Agim is a former 2020 third-round pick by the Denver Broncos. He’s played in 18 career games – 17 of which with the Broncos – and recorded 14 combined tackles, four quarterback hits and 1.5 sacks. Agim played one game this season for the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.
