Terry Bradshaw: Detroit Lions' Bob Quinn, Matt Patricia gotta go; 'nothing's changed there'

Last week, Fox NFL analyst Terry Bradshaw said that the Detroit Lions were wasting Matthew Stafford.

The four-time Super Bowl champ and longtime TV star didn't hold back on Sunday's pregame show either.

After showing an interview with actor and loyal Michigan native Jeff Daniels, who shared his thoughts on the Lions (don't worry, they weren't too different from what you always here).

New Lions head coach Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn arrive for a news conference on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at the practice facility in Allen Park.

But what was new was Bradshaw, blatantly calling for another man's job.

"There will be changes made. I think Bob Quinn, the general manager, should be fired," Bradshaw said. "The head coach (Matt Patrica) has gotta go, if not during the season, after the season.

"Nothing's changed there. There's still losing."

Bradshaw reminisced about how the Pittsburgh Steelers changed their fortunes generations ago. The perennial losing franchise drafted Joe Greene with the fourth overall pick in 1969.

(Howie Long interjected that drafting Bradshaw No. 1 overall in 1970 helped, too.)

"And then the winning started," Bradshaw said. "And all of a sudden, the attitude started to change." Of course, they went on to be the hallmark team of the NFL of that era.

Bradshaw said the Lions are capable of the same kind of turnaround, "but they've got to get the right people."

"You look at Calvin Johnson. Left early. Why? He wanted to. Barry Sanders. Left early. Why? He wanted to. He wanted out of that losing. You've got to change everything inside, and it starts with the owners, making the right decision with a general manager and a head coach."

Last week, Bradshaw said of the then-0-1 Lions: "If you ask me, it's pretty simple. When a coach comes in, he makes a difference. This guy (Matt Patricia) has not made a difference. This quarterback (Matthew Stafford) is being wasted."

The Lions went on to squander yet another double-digit lead and lose to Green Bay.

This week, the Lions visit the Cardinals out in Arizona.

Oh, and one last piece of advise from Bradshaw.

"And don't go up to New England. That's the only one up there that can coach, Bill Belichick."
