Tennessee Titans' Derrick Henry reaches 9,000 career rushing yards on 2nd carry vs. Carolina

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry continues to make his case as a future candidate for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Henry reached 9,000 career rushing yards with his second carry in the first half of the Titans' game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

Henry is the 20th player in NFL history to reach at least 9,000 career rushing yards and 80 rushing touchdowns. He is the eighth player to do so in his first eight NFL seasons.

GENTRY ESTES: Bad as Tennessee Titans have been, at least they aren't the Carolina Panthers

The native of Yulee, Florida, has had a relatively inconsistent 2023 season, if judging against the standards of his numbers as the Titans' lead back since 2018.

He was seventh in the NFL with 663 rushing yards going into Sunday's game and is on pace for his fifth 1,000-yard season. Henry had a solid day on the ground against the Panthers, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns in the Titans' 17-10 victory.

Henry is within 1,000 yards of Eddie George's total (10,009) of the most career rushing yards in franchise history.
