Ten players who could have bigger roles for Ravens in 2024
The Ravens are amid a Super Bowl window, but there are huge decisions to make regarding All-Pros Justin Madubuike and Patrick Queen.
There are numerous free agents at the wide receiver and cornerback positions, while several players could be released for salary cap purposes.
Where things currently stand, Baltimore is expected to have roughly $7,328,828 in cap space via OverTheCap, the 20th most in the NFL.
That number could grow if the team opts to part ways with some expensive contracts (perhaps Ronnie Stanley or Marlon Humphrey.
Currently, the Ravens have 48 players under contract for the 2024 season, and we’re looking at ten contributors who could have more prominent roles.
LB David Ojabo
An obvious choice as a former second round pick, Ojabo has been limited to five games over his first two seasons.
Still he offers pass rush prowess, and Baltimore could lose Jadeveon Clowney an Kyle Van Noy.
OT Daniel Faalele
If Baltimore moves on from Morgan Moses in a cost cutting move, then Faalele could be a potential fall back option at a value salary.
Faalele alternated snaps with Moses down the stretch, and the massive 6 foot 8, 340 pound offensive tackle is still only 24 years old, and could be apotential Jordan Mailata style prospect for the Ravens.
LB Trenton Simpson
Another obvious choice, Simpson improved daily as a rookie playing behind Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen at the inside linebacker spot.
Queen is set to cash out in free agency, and Simpson gave a preview of his potential in the season finale against Pittsburgh, logigng seven tackles and one sack on 26 snaps played.
RB Justice Hill
If Baltimore is unable to make a splash at the running back position in the draft or free agency, then Hill could see his snaps increase over the 50% range.
WR Tylan Wallace
With Devin Duvernay set for free agency, Wallace could see his role increase and he made his case in the overtime win over the Rams, returning a punt 76 yards for a walkoff win.
LB Tavius Robinson
Another obvious choice, the former Ole Miss pass rusher was a fourth round pick in 2023, and could see his snap shares increase with Jadeveon Clowney and Kyle Van Noy entering free agency.
Robinson saw 335 defensive snaps, logging 26 tackles and one sack.
DT Broderick Washington
The defensive tackle started five games after signing a three-year contract extension in the offseason, but his defensive snap rate dropped from 52 percent to 38 percent to 33 percent over the last three weeks.
Washington had 12 tackles and a fumble recovery in 2023, and if Justin Madubuike departs, he could see more action.
OL Sala Aumavae-Laulu
The former Oregon Ducks offensive guard was in the running to start at left guard before John Simpson eventually won the job and logged 1,118 snaps, allowing one sack.
Aumavae-Laulu could be in the mix at right guard if Kevin Zeitler departs.
CB Jalyn Armour-Davis
With four pending free agents, Baltimore could look to stay in-house with their cornerback depth.
The 24-year-old cornerback landed on injured reserve in December and has struggled to stay on the field throughout his two-year NFL career, appearing in just 12 of Baltimore’s 32 games.
The Alabama product has been solid on special teams and could break out in 2024.
OL Andrew Vorhees
Vorhees appeared in 44 games on the offensive line at USC, with 25 starts at right guard before the All-American tore his ACL during the 2023 scouting combine.
With Kevin Zeitler, a free agent, Vorhees could step right into the lineup after a redshirt year as a rookie.
