SWIMMING: Highlanders sweep Panthers

Dec. 11—NORTH VERNON — Floyd Central swept Jennings County in a Hoosier Hills Conference dual meet Saturday.

The Highlander boys rolled to a 150-14 triumph over the Panthers while the Floyd girls defeated Jennings 158-51.

BOYS

The Highlanders won all 11 of the events en route to victory.

Carter Bolling, Jack Hildreth and Kevin McIntyre led the way for Floyd by winning all four of their respective events.

Individually, Bolling finished first in the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 6.06 seconds) and the 100 backstroke (58.67); Hildreth was victorious in the 200 freestyle (1:55.15) and the 500 free (5:14.42) and McIntyre triumphed in the 100 free (54.30) and the 100 breast (1:06.29).

Other individual winners for the Highlanders were Eli Robbeloth in the 50 free (24.66) and Eli Coomer in the 100 butterfly (59.75).

Bolling and McIntyre teamed with Ryan Cochran and Aidan Klinglesmith to win the 200 medley relay (1:42.96). Hildreth and Robbeloth combined with Cole Litch and Connor Bretthauer to capture the 200 free relay (1:38.06). Finally, Hildreth, Bretthauer, Bolling and McIntyre teamed up to finish first in the 400 free relay (3:35.30).

GIRLS

The Highlanders won 10 of the 11 events.

Ella Robbeloth led the way for Floyd, winning all four of her events.

Individually, she captured the 100 breaststroke (1:13.12) and tied teammate Claire Schuler for first in the 50 free (both touched the wall in 26.89). Robbeloth also teamed up with Schuler, Lucy Owens and Sierra Midkiff to finish first in the 200 medley relay (1:59.91). Later, she combined with Claire Jones, Schuler and Lizzie Didat to take the 200 free relay (1:49.65).

Additionally, Midkiff had two individual triumphs — in the 100 butterfly (1:03.97) and the 500 free (5:44.60).

Other individual winners for the Highlanders included Jones in the 100 free (58.41), Presley Caple in the 200 freestyle (2:04.93) and Brooke Bielefeld in the 200 IM (2:26.37).

Bielefeld, Jones and Caple later combined with Macy McCollough to finish first in the 400 free relay (4:00.03).
