Swampcast talks Florida football schedule, Florida basketball, Florida baseball

In this week's Swampcast, the Sun's Kevin Brockway and David Whitley discuss Florida football's thin NFL Draft class and the challenge that lies ahead in the 2024 schedule.

The Florida Gators had just one player selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, Ricky Pearsall, who went 31st overall in the first round to the San Francisco. It was the first time since 1980 that Florida had just one player selected in the NFL Draft.

Brockway pointed out it could be viewed as a positive as draft eligible players such as quarterback Graham Mertz, cornerback Jason Marshall Jr. and defensive tackle Cam Jackson chose to return for the 2024 season. Whitley said that Florida having the same number of players taken in the NFL Draft as the University of Findlay shows the lack of talent UF football head coach Billy Napier inherited from Dan Mullen.

Later, Brockway dove into the 2024 Florida football schedule, pointing out five critical games that could make or break UF's third season under Napier.

Whitley and Brockway also touched on Florida basketball coach Todd Golden's impressive transfer class and the postseason chances for Florida baseball entering a critical eight-game homestand.
