Susquehannock's boys' lacrosse season ends in state quarterfinal

Susquehannock dreamed of having their boys' lacrosse season end in Penn State's Panzer Stadium.

The dream came true, but it was a week early. The Warriors fell to Mars 10-5 Saturday in a PIAA Class 2A quarterfinal. Next week Penn State will host the state final in Panzer Stadium.

The teams played even in the first quarter, finishing in a 2-all tie. The Fightin' Planets doubled up the Warriors in the second quarter, 4-2, to take a lead their didn't give up. Susky added a goal in the third quarter, but it wasn't enough to extend their season.

Carter Kernan and Ben Oestrike led the Warriors with two goals each. Doug Reinecke scored the fifth goal and Tristan Coleman dished out three assists. Nick Blucher recorded 11 saves on 21 shots.

The Warriors finish the season with a record of 17-5. They finished third in the league and in the District 3 tournament.
