Sunshine mixed with rain, clouds to hit Detroit amid NFL draft

Despite Tuesday's rain, there's good news for NFL draft fans: Skies should clear for the start of Detroit's NFL draft this week. But don't put your umbrellas away yet, rain could be in store later for draft weekend.

Tuesday saw rain showers and clouds in Detroit. Temperatures will reach the upper 50s during the day and drop to the low 40s overnight, according to the National Weather Service in White Lake. Wednesday will be dry, the agency said, starting cloudy before sunshine arrives in the afternoon. Expect a high of around 50 degrees before dropping to the low 30s overnight.

Detroit will host the NFL draft Thursday through Saturday, with ongoing festivities. The draft will start mostly sunny and dry Thursday before rain and clouds approach Friday and Saturday.

Here's the forecast, according to the National Weather Service:

Thursday will be a high of 57 degrees, with temperatures dropping to the upper 30s overnight. Conditions will be partly cloudy and sunny, with a 10% chance of precipitation.

Friday will see highs in the mid-60s, dropping to the 50s overnight. Expect partly cloudy skies mixed with sunshine during the day. There will be a slight 20% chance of rain showers during the day, with rain likely overnight at an 86% chance of precipitation.

Expect to see morning rain showers Saturday, drying off into the afternoon. Skies will be cloudy during the day and overnight. Temperatures will warm up, climbing to the upper 70s before dropping to the mid-60s overnight.
