Suni Lee pays homage to Auburn with orange and blue leotard at U.S. Championships

After returning to action at the U.S. Classic earlier this month, former Auburn gymnastics star Suni Lee is back on the big stage — and this time she's paying homage to the Tigers.

Lee, competing at the U.S. Championships in California on Friday, came out in a blue and orange leotard. There isn't an Auburn logo on the uniform, but it certainly looks familiar.

Check it out here:

Lee spent two seasons on the Plains, helping the Tigers to the Final Four as a freshman in 2022 and winning the national championship on beam that same season. As a sophomore, Lee appeared in eight meets before being sidelined with what she later revealed was a kidney issue.

The U.S. Classic on Aug. 5 served as Lee's return to competition. She competed on beam and vault, where she scored a 14.500 and a 13.500, respectively. She is scheduled to compete on those same events at the U.S. Championships on Friday.

Her collegiate career highs — judging is different in elite gymnastics than it is in college — include two perfect 10s on bars and beam, a 9.975 on floor and a 9.95 on vault. Her best all-around score came against LSU in 2022 and Alabama in 2023, as she logged a 39.825 at each meet.

Lee has long said her goal is to push for a spot on the 2024 Olympic roster; the five gymnasts chosen to represent Team USA in Paris will be decided at team trials in June 2024.

The Olympic gold medalist first showed off the leo in a post to TikTok a couple of hours before the event: "Champs day 1," Lee wrote alongside two orange hearts.
