Sturgis cheers to third place at conference

STURGIS — Sturgis High School hosted the Wolverine Conference Championships for competitive cheer on Wednesday. There was cheering (obviously) and plenty of excitement from both the participants and fans in attendance.

Paw Paw ended up cheering its way to a conference championship and a first-place finish. The Lady Red Wolves, Plainwell and Sturgis each eclipsed the 700-point plateau for the evening, but Paw Paw was the one which ran away with the victory. They scored 311.1 points in the third and final round, the most by any school on the day.
