Stevens, soccer star's husband, arrested for violating probation

Jerramy Stevens, the former Seattle Seahawks tight end and new husband of soccer star Hope Solo, was arrested Wednesday in Florida on a probation violation.

Stevens reportedly had traveled to Florida after he married Solo on the same day he was arrested in Kirkland, Wash., as part of an alleged domestic violence incident on Nov. 13. He was not charged, but the arrest was a violation of his Florida probation while he was out of state.

According to information from the Hillsborough (Fla.) County Sheriff's Office, Stevens was arrested at his Florida home and booked an hour later. His probation was for marijuana possession.

Solo was to play in an exhibition game for the U.S. women's soccer team against Ireland on Wednesday in Portland, Ore.

She contended in published reports that she was content with the marriage and that the domestic incident was blown out of proportion.

"It's unfortunate what the media can do to judge before the facts are out there," she said. "It's hard to see, but it's a hard truth, and it's part of life.

"I'm happy. I'm happily married. I would never stand for domestic violence. I've never been hit in my life."
