Steve Kerr reminds everyone how many threes Rockets missed in Game 7 last year
This is the year the Golden State Warriors are supposed to be vulnerable.
They didn’t finish the season with the league’s best record. They looked downright bad at times during the regular season, sometimes at home. They lost two games at Oracle Arena in the first round of the playoffs to the Los Angeles Clippers, the biggest NBA playoff underdog in 30 years.
So far, so good vs. Rockets
But so far through two games, it’s business as usual against the Houston Rockets. Golden State won a Game 1 marred by officiating controversy before winning Game 2 convincingly despite not playing their best game.
The Rockets are on the ropes for Saturday’s Game 3. And Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is throwing some bad mojo their way before tip-off, reminding them of last season’s Game 7 collapse that saw Houston miss 27 consecutive 3-pointers in the Western Conference finals.
Steve Kerr trolls rivals
When a reporter mistakenly noted that Houston missed 26 straight on Saturday, Kerr was quick with the correction.

‘Who’s counting?
“Twenty-seven,” Kerr said. “But who’s counting?”
Kerr is a fiery competitor, a guy who may be best known during his playing days for taking a punch in the face from Michael Jordan in practice while playing for the Chicago Bulls.
He doesn’t hold back when talking about his team’s biggest rival in public. Last week, Kerr pretended to flop when brushed by a reporter at a press conference, trolling the Rockets — and James Harden in particular — for their propensity to seek contact to get to the foul line.
Now he’s reminding them of one of the most futile numbers in NBA playoff history just in time for Game 3.
