Steelers HC Mike Tomlin gets single vote for COY

2022 was a tale of two seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team came out of the gate lost and flat and limped along to a 2-6 record in the first half of the year. There was plenty of finger-pointing, primarily at offensive coordinator Matt Canada and head coach Mike Tomlin. But somehow this team took the bye week and found the answers to all the questions this team seemed to have, finishing 7-2 in the last nine games.

This performance had to be attributed to the coaching of Tomlin since the roster remained largely the same. This ended up netting Tomlin one vote for Coach of the Year. Keep in mind, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll won the Coach of the Year and his team went 3-6-1 down the stretch.

Tomlin’s strong finish secured a winning record and kept his streak of non-losing seasons alive and extended it to 16 seasons.

Let us know in the comments if you think Tomlin should have been a stronger contender for Coach of the Year or did the team’s slow start doom him.
