Steelers GM Kevin Colbert says team isn’t worried about Ben Roethlisberger beyond this season

The Pittsburgh Steelers got a huge boost when quarterback Ben Roethlisberger agreed to come back for the 2021 season and do his part by taking a pay cut to help the team be in a position to be competitive this season.

It seems the entire franchise has decided to go all-in for this year and not look ahead to next season at all. Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert spoke to the media on Tuesday and he said there is no thought to Roethlisberger’s future beyond the 2021 season.

Unfortunately for Roethlisberger, he’s returning to a team with an entirely new offensive line. Roethlisberger threw for 3,803 yards and 33 passing touchdowns last season while the run game struggled. At this point it is highly unlikely Roethlisberger plays beyond this season and the STeelers are going to be looking for a new starting quarterback for the first time since 2004.
