All-State AA Legion team out; Lakers' Holden is all-conference

Aug. 1—Max Holden of the Kalispell Lakers was among the honorees on the 2023 AA Montana/Alberta All-State and All-Conference American Legion baseball teams, released Monday.

Holden, a senior pitcher and infielder for the Lakers, was among three pitchers named to the 11-member All-Conference in voting by league coaches.

Fourteen players were named All-State, with six of them coming from the state champion Helena Senators. Three more Senators were named all-conference.

Holden had an excellent season on the mound, throwing 84 innings with 34 walks, 70 strikeouts and a .235 opponent batting average. Offensively he hit .330 with 10 triples, two homers, 35 runs batted in and 27 stolen bases for the 34-21 Lakers.
