Springport squeezes past Union City in fourth Big 8 Golf Jamboree of 2024

BRONSON – The race for the Big 8 golf conference title just got a little bit tighter, as the whole of the conference traveled to Bronson’s Bella Vista Golf Course, one of the more difficult courses the teams have faced this season.

After winning the first two jamborees of the season, the Union City Chargers have finished in second place two straight times, as Springport eked out a two-stroke victory Thursday, winning with a score of 195 compared to Union City’s final score of 197.

Quincy finished in third place with a 200, followed by Bronson in fourth at 231 and Maple Valley in fifth at 269. Neither Reading nor Concord field a full golf team in 2024, meaning neither squad is eligible for the team standings.
