Spartanburg area's top high school fall sports performers: Chesnee golf star has back-to-back wins

The South Carolina high school fall sports season is in full swing. Here are the area's top performers for this week's athletic events featuring schools from Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union counties.

Monday

Girls Golf

Olivia Roberts, Chesnee: Roberts led the Eagles to another win, this time the Lady Hurricane Invitational. She finished first on the individual side after shooting a 68.

Olivia Shields, Chesnee: Shields shot a 78 to help Chesnee.

Addy Parker, Chesnee: Parker finished with a score of 79.

Girls Tennis

Sophia Bennett, Landrum: In the No. 2 match Bennett won her match by a score of 6-2 and 7-5 to lead Landrum to a 5-1 win over Dorman.

Isabel Helms, Dorman: Helms was the single Dorman winner against Landrum, winning the No. 1 match, 6-3 and 6-1.

Tuesday

Boys Cross Country

Grayson Bryant, Dorman: In the Dorman Open Meet, Bryant finished first in the boys race with a time of 17:29.

Miles Brooks, Dorman: Brooks finished in second place with a time of 17:36.

Mason Burgess, Spartanburg Christian: Burgess finished third in the Dorman Open Meet with a time of 17:41.

Girls Cross Country

Ella Blount, Dorman: In the Dorman Open Meet, the seventh grader finished first on the girls side with a time of 22:27.

Evyn Kate Dill, Dorman: Finishing within a second of first place, Dill finished third with a time of 22:28.

Ella Tombuelt, Dorman: Tombuelt, like Dill, finished inches away from first with a time of 22:28. That was good enough for second place.

Boys Swimming

Harrison Babb, Spartanburg: In a 143-142 win over Byrnes, Babb finished first three times for the Vikings, including in the 200-yard medley relay, the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke.

William Lancaster, Spartanburg: Lancaster also finished in first place three times for Spartanburg — in the 200-yard individual medley, the 100-yard backstroke and the 200 medley relay.

Finn McEnroe, Spartanburg: McEnroe also won three races for the Vikings, the 500-yard freestyle, the 100-yard butterfly and the 200 medley relay

Girls Swimming

Isabella Sarvis, Byrnes: In a 157-128 loss to Spartanburg, Sarvis won three races for Byrnes, including the 200 medley relay, the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.

Teagan McEnroe, Spartanburg: McEnroe led the way for the Vikings with wins in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.

Girls Volleyball

Jayla Dunn, Chesnee: In a 3-0 loss to Landrum, Dunn led the Chesnee defense with 3.5 blocks and added six kills.

Pearl Holloway, Chesnee: Holloway added 20 assists nine digs and three aces in the Eagles' loss.

Hayden Roberts, Chesnee: Roberts finished the night with a double-double of 10 kills and 11 digs.

Wednesday

Girls Golf

Adeline Todd, Chapman: In Chapman's first win of the season, a 201-216 victory over Wade Hampton, Todd led all golfers with a score of 41.

Olivia Roberts, Chesnee: In Chesnee's second team win and Roberts' second individual win of the week, the defending state champion shot a 34 to lead the Eagles to a 150-214 win over Landrum.

Olivia Shields, Chesnee: Shields shot a 37 in the win.

Abigail Watson, Chesnee: Watson finished with a score of 39.

Addy Parker, Chesnee: Parker rounded out the top four for Chesnee with a score of 40.
