SouthCoast high school scores and highlights from Monday, Sept. 26

Here's a look at the scores and highlights from Monday's high school action on the SouthCoast.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Bishop Stang 3, New Bedford 0

Mae Lima led the Spartans to a 25-21, 25-22, 25-13 win with 17 kills, one ace and nine digs while Ali James added seven kills, three aces and two digs. Darian Dias (three kills, one ace and 18 digs), Lilly Surprenant (two kills, one ace and 30 assists) and Lilly Manning (four kills and two aces) also contributed. Stang (2-5, 1-4 CCL) hosts Archbishop Williams on Thursday. The Whalers (3-4, 1-1 SEC) visit Brockton on Wednesday.

Old Rochester 3, Somerset Berkley 0

Old Rochester won 25-21, 25-16, 25-17 thanks to nine kills and 11 digs from Ella Soutter. Aubrie Letourneau added 17 assists and three aces while Kam Rodrigues had six kills. Emma Van Ness had seven service points and four aces. The Bulldogs (7-0, 5-0 SCC) visit Apponequet on Wednesday.

GNB Voc-Tech 3, Seekonk 0

Lilly Misay led the way from the service line with nine aces while Elle McCormack dished out 19 assists. The Bears (6-3, 6-1 SCC) host Dighton-Rehoboth on Wednesday.

Dighton-Rehoboth 3, Apponequet 2

Lacie Nolin had two aces, 10 service points and seven digs in a 25-12, 21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-8 loss. Delaney Jacobsen had five aces, 14 service points, three digs and two kills. The Lakers (3-4, 1-4 SCC) host Old Rochester on Wednesday.

Dartmouth 3, Bridgewater-Raynham 0

Lauren Augusto had 35 assists to spark Dartmouth to a 25-10, 25-21, 25-18 win. Adeline Ablett was 20 for 22 at the net with nine kills while Haley Jenkins was 13 for 16 at the net with seven kills. Erynn Jasparro was 21 for 23 at the net with seven kills. Oliva Arruda had 13 digs. Alaina Strozik had six kills. Gaby Velazquez had five kills and was 17 for 19 on serve receive. Madison Goldizen was 11 for 11 on serve receive. Dartmouth (6-1) visits Case on Wednesday.

Bourne 3, Wareham 0

Evie Francis had seven digs and six kills in a 25-21, 25-18, 25-15 loss. Fredi Gakidis added 11 digs, five kills and two aces while Riley Florindo chipped in with nine digs and 23 service receptions. The Vikings (3-5) host Case on Friday.

Diman 3, Old Colony 0

McKenna Benoit had five aces while Kelly Quin added two kills and one block and Allison Bumpus had two kills. Alyssa Couto had two assists. The Cougars (1-6, 0-2 MAC) visit Upper Cape on Wednesday.

Case 3, Fairhaven 0

Kate Magalhaes had four kills, eight digs and was 7 of 7 serving while Shealynn Dorschied recorded 17 digs, one ace and was 22 of 26 on serve receptions. Abbey Lopes added six assists and one ace. The Blue Devils (5-2, 4-2 SCC) visit Seekonk on Wednesday.

BOYS SOCCER

GNB Voc-Tech 2, Apponequet 1

Vadilson Tavares had Apponequet’s lone goal while Josh Snyder had eight saves. The Lakers (0-5-1, 0-4-1 SCC) visit Seekonk on Wednesday.

Bristol-Plymouth 3, Old Colony 0

The Cougars fall to 1-5-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the MAC.

Old Rochester 6, Case 0

Ryan Blanchette notched three goals and one assist while Matt Carvalho had two goals and two assists. Liam Geraghty added one goal and two assists. The Bulldogs (3-1-2, 3-1-1 SCC) visit Bourne on Wednesday.

GIRLS SOCCER

Apponequet 4, GNB Voc-Tech 0

Morgan Hayward scored two goals and assisted on another for the Lakers (5-1, 4-0 SCC). Reagan Flynn and Morgan Pendegrace also had goals while Flynn and Emerson Ricciardi each had an assist. Casey Radley made two saves for her fourth shutout of the season. Kaeyln Medeiros stopped a barrage of shots to keep Voc-Tech in the game. Maddy Duarte and Leah Cabral played tough defense. The Bears (2-6-2, 2-2-2 SCC) host Fairhaven on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Old Colony 2, Bristol-Plymouth 2

The Cougars (1-3-1, 0-1 MAC) were down twice in the game and came back both times to tie it. Averi Oliveria scored off an assist by Marron Sheehan to tie it at 1. B-P scored to make it 2-1. With 14 minutes left in the game, Sheehan scored the tying goal off an assist from Lilah White. “Izzy Hougassian was outstanding on defense with the support of her outside wing backs, Rylee Vilacha and Lauren Lebeau,” said Old Colony head coach Tom Lee Martins. “Both goals were scored from set plays with Teagan Stuart putting the ball in the danger area of the B-P 6 yard box.”

Dartmouth 1, North Attleboro 1

Down 2-0, Dartmouth scored back-to-back goals from Lauren Kiser and Sophia Gioiosa to capture the tie. Gioiosa also had an assist.

FIELD HOCKEY

Bishop Stang 3, New Bedford 0

Ava Pacheco and Sydney Plouffe each had a goal and an assist while Lily Duclos also scored. Teal Galligan added an assist. Julia Caron had nine saves to earn the shutout. The Spartans (2-1-2, 0-1-2 CCL) host Dartmouth on Wednesday. The Whalers (2-3-1, 1-1-1 SEC) host Brockton on Wednesday.

Dartmouth 1, Middleboro 1

Grace Haskell scored on a corner off an assist by Samatha Souza in the third quarter to tie the game. Dartmouth (3-1-3, 2-1-1 SEC) visits Bishop Stang on Wednesday.

Durfee 4, Apponequet 0

Allison Arruda had 12 saves for the Lakers. Apponequet (1-3-1) hosts Old Rochester on Wednesday.

GOLF

Apponequet 270, Seekonk 355

Seniors Luke Richards (42), Jason Demers (44) and Pat Stone (45) led the way for the undefeated Lakers (6-0) at Poquoy Brook Golf Club.

Fairhaven 270, Case 349

Barrett Becotte led the Blue Devils with a 39 at the par 36 Whaling City Golf Course. Parker Herman (44), Hugh Boucher (44), Calvin Downing (45) and Jack Boucher (45) also contributed to the win for Fairhaven. The Blue Devils (4-1, 4-1 SCC) hosts Bourne on Thursday.

Dartmouth 121, Brockton 101

Will Gagni shot a 39 at DW Field, scoring 24 points to lead Dartmouth. Chase Guilherme (40 for 23), Tom Moreira (42 for 21), Ian Emery (45 for 18) and Andre Capataz (45 for 18) also contributed for Dartmouth (5-2, 3-2 SEC).

Bishop Stang 191, Arlington Catholic 129

On a very windy and challenging day, Matt Costello led the Spartans with a 1-over 37 for 34 points. Redmond Podkowa followed with a 3-over 39 for 30 points. Bianca Ligotti provided solid play with a 42 for 27 points while JJ Podkowa and Talbot Lown came in with 43s for 24 points each. The Spartans (7-1, 5-0 CCL) visit St. Mary’s on Wednesday.
