South Carolina women's basketball vs UConn sells out nearly two months before game

COLUMBIA — Nearly two months ahead of the game, South Carolina women's basketball has sold out Colonial Life Arena for its matchup with No. 17 UConn.

The No. 1 Gamecocks (11-0) host the Huskies (8-3) on Feb. 11 (2 p.m., ESPN) after earning the program's first-ever road win against UConn last season. South Carolina trails the all-time series 9-4 with losses in the first eight meetings, but Dawn Staley's squad has won four of the past five.

South Carolina has sold out the 18,000-seat arena at least once in the past eight consecutive seasons, including twice in 2022-23. The Gamecocks played in front of a full house when they hosted LSU and again on senior night against Georgia.

The UConn game has sold out three times previously, in 2020, 2018 and 2016. Last year's matchup at XL Center in Hartford was also a sellout.

South Carolina concluded its non-conference schedule before the holidays on a 93-62 win over Bowling Green on Wednesday to remain undefeated in 2022-23. The Huskies struggled through a brutal early-season schedule with three losses to top-5 teams, but they picked up their first win of Big East play against Butler on Monday.
