South Carolina would love a repeat performance today when the Gamecocks face Arkansas in a second-round SEC Tournament game in Nashville, Tenn.
The Gamecocks turned in a dominant performance in their regular-season victory at Arkansas’ Bud Walton Arena on Jan. 20, shooting 51.9% from the field, including 9-of-18 from 3-point range and outrebounding the Razorbacks 39-27.
“We got off to a good start and it continued pretty much throughout the game,” South Carolina coach Lamont Paris said.
Arkansas coach Eric Musselman offered a similar assessment: “Hopefully we come up with something slightly different than what happened at Bud Walton, because if we do what we did at Bud Walton we will not win the game. Pretty simple.”
South Carolina (25-6), which is ranked 16th in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll, is the tournament’s No. 5 seed while Arkansas (16-16) is seeded 12th.
